About Us

In June 1982, Ernest D. Campbell, CPA, was created. In just seven months, operations moved to 119 N Jefferson. As the business grew, we moved to Chalet Village just after it was built. In order to accommodate the increasing workload, we moved to 317 W Commercial. Our next move was not of our own choosing. On April 6, 2002, the office building was destroyed in a fire. After cleaning up and salvaging what we could, we moved operations to our current location in the Twin Oaks Shopping Center on North Hwy 5.

Our Team

Ernie has been here since the beginning. He grew up in western Kansas and has lived in New Mexico, California, and Missouri. As evidenced by the puzzle gallery, he loves to do puzzles. He is a graduate of Manhattan Christian College (KS) and New Mexico State University. He obtained his CPA certification in 1976. He continues to maintain certification by attending continuing education classes and seminars to keep abreast of accounting and tax changes.

Theresa Taylor grew up working in the office and has done everything from cleaning to corporations. She’s spent most of her time in Manhattan, Kansas, but moved back to Lebanon in January 2014. She is a graduate of Kansas State University and has attended Manhattan Christian College and Columbia College (MO). She is pursuing her CPA certification.  She has obtained her Enrolled Agent (EA) credential.

An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by either passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual and business tax returns, or through experience as a former IRS employee. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.

Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.

Michelle Evans joined our team in October 2003 and we consider her a payroll expert. She handles tax returns for those who do not have their own business. She is one of the smiles you’ll see when you walk through our front door. One of her most important tasks is keeping the office running efficiently. She has lived in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri.

Our newest team member is Saundra McCarter. She will be working during tax season. Her main role is to greet you as you come in or call our office. Her gentle nature is a welcome addition to our team. She has lived in the Lebanon area since 1995. She has many years of working with customer service.
